Enjoy “Midtown Second Saturday Art Walk” 6/14
As the name implies, this Midtown event takes place once a month and it’s free. It’s a May through October even. It’s a “celebration of arts and culture within Midtown Sacramento, and an opportunity to highlight the people who bring it to life.” It goes on from 2 to 8 pm. (The Farmers Market takes place from 8 to 1, for those looking for a morning activity. I highly recommend it if you’ve never been there) On this walk you will enjoy “curated art walk for visitors to discover new artists, live music, galleries and more!” Here’s a link with more information. Parking: There’s plenty of free street parking available in Midtown on the weekends but you’ll have to look for it. Or you can park at one of Midtown’s Parking Garages.

Hike, Fish, Picnic @Woods Lake (Off Highway 88)
This past weekend, I discovered Woods Lake. Just call it Switzerland in California. Absolutely breathtaking beautiful and it’s only about 2 hours away. You can hike, fish or just picnic with the family and take a lot of pictures. And the best part was that even though it was the second weekend of summer, there was barely anybody there. Here’s a link to learn more about Woods Lake.

Take a “Handguning 101” Class 7/5
I’ve had a few of conversations with my (mostly women) friends where they showed interest in learning to shoot but didn’t know where to begin.

One On One Firearms is located right here in Sacramento and offers classes for every level.
For hanguns, they offer New Shooter Handgun Basics, Handgun 1 Foundations, Handgun 2 Reactive Shooting and Advanced Tactical Handgun. Their basics class is taking place on July 5th from 8 to 12 and costs $150. I wouldn’t wait till the last minute to sign up. They have a “Video Gallery” page on their website which is a good place to start to see what one can expect. They also have other types of weapon classes.
