Every spring & summer, some Sacramento area farms open their fields to the public, giving you a chance to pick your own fruits. Even though some farms are facing a lower than usual crop, there are some which are doing just fine. Make sure you wear your work clothes and bring your suntan lotion.
DAISY CREEK FARMS
Address: 13440 Alabama Rd. | Galt
This 20 acre organic U-Pick Farm is owned by Jagmeet Singh and his wife. They have planted over 100 varieties of Fruits and vegetables for U-Pick Farm.
Currently, they have blueberries, cherries and strawberries but consult their website for updates.

AMERICAN RIVER CHERRY COMPANY
Address: 240 Dias Dr. | Placerville
This farm started in 1990 and has different varieties of cherry and berry. They also have several kinds of honey and plums, figs and kiwis, when in season. U-Pick at American River Cherry Company should be open at the end of May/beginning of June. It’s better to check their facebook / Instagram page or call them about the opening day, hours and prices.

Airaya U-Pick Farm
Address: 25221 March Creek Road | Brentwood
At Airaya U-Pick Farm, you can pick 21 delicious tree-ripened varieties of peaches, nectarines, apricots, pluots and asian pears.
Their U-Pick season opens on May 24th, 2023 and they will start with Krista yellow peaches and limited white peaches and nectarines.

Impossible Acres

Impossible Acres is a family farm, started in 1994.
At the time of writing this blog, their website is still not updated for the 2023 U-Pick season.
It is best to check their website or give them a call to find out what is ready for picking.

Pacific Star Gardens

According to their Facebook page, they only grow strawberries.
It is best that one confirms that they have fruits ready to pick as sometimes they are sold out. Woodland is only 27 minutes away from Sacramento, so they have lots of customers. Phone ☎️ # 530-666-7308
Sun Strawberry
Address: 4625 Bilby Road | Elk Grove
Sun Strawberry is in Elk Grove, which is great because it’s close to Sacramento. According to their Facebook page, they are open for U-pick season but by appointment. Make sure you give them a call at 916-716-2142 before you head down there.
Nunn Better Farms
Address: 2777 Sellers Ave | Brentwood
Nunn Better Farms is a 150 years old family farm in Brentwood & is the place to go if one is looking to pick their cherries. 🍒According to their website, they are having their best crop in a decade. They are open 7 days a week until the end of June from 9 to 7. They have Coral, Chilean and Rainier cherries. (Who knew there are so many kinds of 🍒’s.) Read more about them on their website.
Three Sisters Gardens of Broderick
Three Sisters Gardens of Broderick is not a U-Pick farm but a non-profit organization. It’s “native indigenous urban farm program that gives back to the community”. It is located in West Sacramento and is run by Alfred Melbourne. If one is interested in getting some fresh organic fruits and vegetables, it’s best to contact them through their Facebook Page or their website. Or call 916-291-8595. Alfred is a great guy and he is all about giving back to the community.
