There’s a car show happening this Saturday from 3 to 7 pm in Citrus Heigths.

Also on Saturday from 9 to 3, there will be 2nd Annual Car Show in Main St in Downtown Ione.
Pope House Tour at the Tallac Historic Site 6/21
If you want to the head to Lake Tahoe and experience something new, this might be it.
Built in 1894, the Pope House is among the oldest standing structures in the Tahoe Basin. Once a private residence for the most affluent of San Francisco’s elite, today the house is part of our national public lands heritage.This docent-guided tour traverses the entire 5,000sq ft. house, plus the servant’s kitchen and dining area. Learn about the people behind the opulence, about Lake Tahoe’s history and development, and about the oral legends of the Tallac Historic Site. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architecture and construction methods, there is only one house like it.
Tours are Thursday to Sunday at 11 and 1 pm & are one hour long. Tickes are $17 for adults and $8 for the children. Kiva Beach is nearby if you’re looking for a dog-friendly beach. Free parking too.
Strawberry Picking @ Sun Strawberry LLC Elk Grove 6/20 & 21
If you’ve never been strawberry picking, this will be a good experience for the whole family considering temperature will be in the 80’s this weekend. Sun Strawberry will be open 9 to 5 and here’s the link to their Facebook page.

Rafting on American River @ Rancho Cordova
If you don’t feel like getting out of town, try rafting on American River. How it works: Park your car, get on the raft, float down the river and they’ll pick you up down the river and bring you back to the starting point on a school bus. That easy. They have 4, 6, 10 & 12 person rafts and prices start at $99 for the 4 person rafts. To learn more and make reservations, visit their website. Improve Your Shotgunning Skills (Shotguns) @ Esparto
If you or your spouse already know how to use a shotgun but you’re not exactly great at breaking clays, you might want to take a class. I am an experienced shooter but taking a one hour lesson with Scott, really taught me the science of it and made me better a better shooter. He is an awesome instructor and teaches out of Quail Point Hunt Club in Esparto. A typical lesson starts with you shouldering your gun, with him watching you and possibly making suggestions on “Fitting” your gun. (I had no idea such thing existed.) For me, it was $ well spent. If you’re interested, give me a call or send me an email and I’ll put you in touch with him. He’s an old fashioned guy and doesn’t have a website or Facebook page (that I know of)
