Lenise’s Cafe

3150 Jefferson Blvd | West Sacramento

Lenise’s Cafe is “a European Style Cafe with a wide variety of fresh food, pastries, and delicious specialty drinks.” They have delicious paninis, crepes, omelets, egg breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soups, and wraps. (and more) They do have outside seating available #sacramentodogfriendlyrestaurants

We came to brunch here for my husband’s early birthday with his parents. The outdoor patio was super nice! They had a high chair for my toddler too which was awesome. I enjoyed the Monte Cristo crepe I had, it was really delicious… savory & sweet! The Cranberry mimosa was delicious… and bottomless! The staff was awesome and very helpful. Would definitely come again! Yelp Review

Franquette

965 Bridge St | West Sacramento

Franquette is a “French-inspired wine bar and cafe brought to you by the team behind Michelin-rated restaurant, Canon.” Franquette’s culinary program is led by Chef Elena Winks who studied at Ferrandi, Institute of French Gastronomy and worked at Verjus and Ellsworth in Paris, France. For breakfast, , they serve walnut croissants and walnut frangipane. Their “small plates” include oysters, Salmon Rillettes and Beef Tartar. They also serve Mushroom Tartine and Quiche. As for dessert, they serve lemon tarte and Pot De Creme. According to the chef, they use fresh local ingredients. Their complete menu is on their website for those who want to know more.

“Franquette is quite a find in Sacramento – well – West Sacramento to be exact. This chic little French cafe is exactly what you’d want if you’re looking for an elegant breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The food at Franquette is beautifully prepared and full of exquisite flavor. From croissants to sandwiches to quiche, all the things we tried were excellent. None of the items overdid it in terms of extra flavors or treatments. Everything was just as it should be and balanced just right. The restaurant is very modern and inviting. There is ample counter space as well as tables to dine inside and out. There is also a nice little booth tucked away in the back corner for a more intimate dining experience. There aren’t too many places like Franquette around Sacramento. Enjoy this unique cafe when you get the chance!” Yelp Review

Tree House Cafe

630 3rd St | West Sacramento

Tree House Cafe Located near River Walk Park, (only a block away) makes this a perfect place to relax after walking the dogs along the majestic Sacramento River. (Unmatched outdoor sitting makes this place unique in that way) Visit this cafe for a break and degust nicely cooked egg sandwiches, tacos, and Bbq pork. Delicious draft beer, cider or craft beer are the best drinks of Tree House Cafe. One yelper said

“Tree House Cafe is a hidden little spot in West Sac that is starting to get noticed – and for good reason. The food here is excellent and worth a trip for breakfast or lunch. Enjoy eating inside or outside in their spacious outdoor area that is continuing to grow and improve. The food at the Tree House Cafe is prepared by a chef – and you can tell the difference. There is a lot of care that goes into your orders here, and the dishes all have a special touch that makes them unique. The BLTA is especially awesome. It comes on this amazing toasted brioche bread with generous slices of bacon inside. There are also seasoned tomatoes, lettuce, and a gochujang sauce that puts it over the top. Make sure to check out the seasonal specials on the separate menu for items that aren’t on the main menu. You’ll find some great food there, and if you’re not sure of something, just ask as the staff at the Tree House are very friendly and informative.” Yelp Review

Raku Sushi

805 Harbor Blvd | West Sacramento

Raku Sushi This is a Sushi lover’s dream coming true. ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI, at an affordable price. Not only Raku Sushi offers a large selection of signature and traditional rolls, but each roll is made fresh to order. Their menu offers over 40 kinds of sushis, “Rainbow, California, House Tempura, Volcano, Red Dragon,……” And there are also 9 different kinds of Vegetarian Sushi Rolls on their menu. Lucas, a yelper from Davis said

” So. Much. Sushi! I visited Raku last week for the first time since last summer and it’s only gotten better! First off, they offer a very reasonably priced sushi buffet, with options for lunch and dinner. I haven’t been for lunch but I’ve found the dinner price to be worth it both times, as I’ve left uncomfortably full on both occasions. We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was full but we just needed a table for two, so the wait was short. They offer a waitlist (powered by Yelp) that you can sign up for upon arrival if it looks like there is a wait. After about five minutes, we were seated at a table for two and our orders were taken almost instantly. The menu is on a QR code so you can access it with your smartphone. I was kind of expecting a real menu being this far out from there height of the pandemic, but it was a non-issue. Service was insanely fast and the staff member assigned to our table was back at our table taking our orders before I could design what was next – literally every time! And the sushi making was just as quick. There was rarely a time period where the table was empty, from start to finish. Kudos to Raku! One thing that had changed since my last visit was they now offer a small salad bar with items like edamame, seaweed salad, and more. It’s nice to stock up before the sushi ordering begins, but don’t go too hard, since the sushi is the main event AND unlimited. As for the sushi, everything was great. A good variety of rolls, nigiri, sashimi, etc, with non-fish entrees for folks tagging along who aren’t into sushi. I ordered a few pieces of chicken katsu because it was an option but otherwise stuck exclusively to sushi. All in all, an even better experience than my last visit. I will definitely be back! Burgers and Brew

317 3rd St | West Sacramento

Burgers and Brew, as the name implies, is about great burger and great beer. It was founded 15 years by two brothers who felt that Sacramento is in the need of a great “burger and brew” restaurant. They onlyu use 100% Niman Ranch meat and one can tell. They now have 5 locations across northern California. This West Sacramento location, has a lot of history: It used to be a fire station and a fire engine called “Old Mary” which was purchased in 1926, is on display in the restaurant. This place is not only dog friendly, (patio seating) but one can go for a nice walk by Sacramento River, with their furry friend, and then enjoy a tasty burger and craft beer at the restaurant.

Pooja Indian Grill

1223 Merkley Ave | West Sacramento

For many, Indian food can’t get any better than Pooja Indian Grill in West Sacramento. They take the price of their food AND IT SHOWS! They prepare their food from scratch and use no preservatives. Selection is wide: They offer over 100 different dishes and you can have every single one of them mild, medium or hot, or anything in between. Vegetarians, they offer a variety of different dishes. Some of the favorite dishes are Bhindi (Okra cooked in a masala sauce), Lamb Biriyani ( Lamb cubes over aromatic basmati rice), Sheek Kabab (Minced lamb kabobs made with bell peppers, herbs, onions, and spices cooked on skewers over mesquite charcoal in tandoor). By the what is a tandoor? In four words, it’s a “high-heat clay oven”. Samaa of West Sacramento has this to say about Pooja Grill:

I’m a bit of a picky eater regarding specific cuisines, and Indian is one of them. If it’s not cooked correctly and correct with the fresh ingredients needed, my taste will know it, haha. That being said, my go-to restaurant here in our cute city of West Sacramento is Pooja. Every. Single. Thing. Is exceptional. Excellent quality, quantity, and service whether you’re dining in or taking out. We love our neighborly Indian restaurant and the owners too 🙂 Thank you all for keeping the outstanding quality and service. Much love xoxo Yelp Review

Broderick Road House

319 6th St | West Sacramento

Broderick Road House or Broderick 1893 (it goes by both names) “was born from a food truck in Sacramento” and started their first restaurant in West Sacramento in 2012. They are a burger joint that does everything old fashion and offers every burger with its own veggie patty. Their Johnny Cash burger is famous: It’s a 1/2 lb burger topped with white cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, house-pickled sweet peppers, fried onion crisps, and house-made BBQ sauce, which is hard to beat. And they offer ice cold & local draft beer to help wash their burgers down. Peter from Elk Grove said “As soon as you walk in you know it’s a vibe. Been here since I’ve been born in Sacramento. The burgers and food are 10/10 service is always amazing 9/10 and the ambiance is 10/10. The johnny cash burger is impeccable. The drinks are 10/10. I spent well over 200$ once by myself. On food and drinks alone.” Yelp Review.

Kick n Mule

2901 West Capital Ave | West Sacramento

Kick n Mule was founded in 2017 and it is a restaurant and sports bar with over 30 TVs for sports enthusiasts. They serve burgers, steaks, wraps, and pizzas plus lots of delicious appetizers: chicken wings, Thai lettuce wraps, and potato skins. Their happy hours are Monday-Friday 3 pm-6 pm Monday-Thursday 10 pm-12 am Sunday ALL DAY. Ann L. from Sacramento said

If you’re looking for a place to watch the game, this is your spot. If you’re looking for some great bar food, this is your spot. If you’re looking for a place to be a regular where they all know your name, this is your spot. Been here a few times and the food and service have always been solid. The prices for what you get are some of the best in the city. The jambalaya which was new on the menu since we were there last was perfectly seasoned and more than we could eat. Their burgers are great and there were lots of them flying out of the kitchen. Stop on in for some good food and friendly service that won’t break the bank. Yelp Review
